Watches in 2025 - BlitzKrieg - 06-11-2025

Why do people still buy watches? Clocks are everywhere. Mobile phone, task bar on computer, screen in car, microwave, thermostat, TV, thing to see who is at the door, IP phone, ....

So, why watches? Seems almost unrealistic that you would use it even if you wore it. So much easier to look at the clock right in front of your face (windows task bar) 8 hours a day.

Do people actually sit at their computer, roll up their sleeve, make a dramatic gesture to position their wrist in front of their face so they can check the time which was already in their screen? I don't get it..

In b4 it's jewelry phaggot. Well why not wear bracelets and rings then instead of a piece of obsolete technology?

Whenever I see someone in the current era wearing a watch I can't help but assume that person must be borderline retarded or full blown retarded. (Dead fucking serious)

When I was in college, sometimes the clock in the classroom didn’t work, and we weren’t allowed to have our cell phones on during class. A watch would be a necessity in that situation

What's even worse are "smart watches" when they've already got an iphone in their pocket that tells the time . Baffles me NGL

That's a very rare instance these days.   Absolutely no need for a watch in 2025

Since today I started my experiment "life without a cell phone", well sort of ..

-my main cell phone powered off in a drawer at home
-a cell phone at my desk with no sim card, no apps, only microsoft authenticator and the native timer function. This phone for 2FA and setting a vibrating alarm every 30 minutes to switch from sitting to standing (I tried multiple times with computer/browser timers and it doesnt quite work, you need a physical timer on your table that does not make bleeping sounds during meetings but which vibrates until you press reset, so a phone is perfect)

day one complete, going to leave this phone at my desk and attempt not to get extreme withdrawal later when I spend the first night without phone (joking but really not joking)

what do I hope to achieve? better sleep eventually and resetting my brain

A combination of melatonin, 5-htp and GABA will help you sleep (srs)
